Neoprene pads
Neoprene pads definition
Neoprene and nitrile pads have been on the market for some years. They are made of closed synthetic foam allowing them to create a tight seal, are incredibly quiet, and are fairly easy to install.

Neoprene pads design
The foam is used directly as a pad or sometimes supported by either cork, cardboard or plastic, to give it a better straight surface.

Results
They are often sound absorbing in particular in the top register. Another problem we noticed is that neoprene can shrink over time if it is not treated properly. This can cause leaks. This makes the pad less stable and it will only allow a short lifetime. Hard impressions on the pad can also lead to problems.
