Delacquering

Delacquering
Depending on the hardness, thickness, and brittleness of the varnish, this can influence the sound of a wind instrument. Lacquer has mainly an influence on the instrument body; the keys could be neglected.

It must be evaluated whether the lack of material protection justifies the sound and the gain in resonance.

The amount of delacquering to be carried out depends on the paint type and its condition and must be evaluated from instrument to instrument.o paint the entire instrument. It can be limited to the parts which will be touched.
